Chitosan oligosaccharide, also known as COS, is a kind of oligosaccharide product obtained by degrading chitosan by special biological enzyme technology (there are also reports of chemical degradation and microwave degradation technology), the degree of polymerization is between 2 and 20, and the molecular weight is ¡Ü3200Da. It is a low molecular weight product with good water solubility, great function and high biological activity. It has many unique functions such as high solubility that chitosan does not have, fully soluble in water, easy to be absorbed and utilized by organisms, and its effect is 14 times that of chitosan.
Chitosan oligosaccharide is the only positively charged cationic basic amino oligosaccharide in nature. It is a small molecular oligosaccharide with amino groups degraded from chitosan derived from shrimp & crab shells or fungi. It is a sugar chain with a degree of polymerization of 2 to 20. |
